Doctor Rooholamini

My condolences to all who got to know Majid.
This is sad news for all of us.
I only got to know him through NAIRS but even with that little contact, I
found him a truly honorable human being.
It would be important that we do something for his family as a group.

Best regards,

Mostafa Atri

Dear All;

I was stunned and shocked by the news of sudden death of Majid. We not only have lost a great friend, but our society has lost a great human being, our leader and founder. Majid was so close to all of us, that I feel that I have lost a family member. I know all of you have the same feeling. He has kindly touched all of our lives. He was always nice and gentle to people even those he did not know. He was full of enthusiasm, sincerity and culture. He was a symbol of honesty, kindness and care. Thanks to Farzin that in last RSNA meeting acknowledged Majid's service to our society in Iran and here in US.
I extend my condolensces to all.
God bless his soul.

Dear Friends

I just came back from a meeting and was shocked by the news of the sudden death of Dr Rooholamini. This is a very sad day for me in a personal note but also for the Iranian Radiology as a whole. I got to know Dr Rooholamini through the meetings in Iran and in Chicago. I was impressed by his devotion to Iran and Iranians. I never forget that each time he was talking about Iran, he had some tears in his eyes. He was very good to me and on each occasion that I had the privilege to spend time with him, I was asking him lots of advice and he was always answering generously with so much affection like an older brother.  I cannot find any word to express how sad I am and am sure that his travel to the other world will create a void in our community that would never be filled.

When it comes to Dr Rooholamini, I always think of the verse saying "Hargez namirad ankeh delash zendeh shod be eshg" and this is so true for him since I do not know of many who was so much in love with his country and his people.

Best regards

Like all the NAIRS members, I am very saddened by the loss of our friend  Dr. Rooholamini. He was a dedicated and passionate teacher with endless enthusiasm for the field of radiology. He was a kind and giving individual who expected nothing in return; a true gentleman. A friend from England nicely described his impression of Dr. Rooholamini in an email to me yesterday: “ I was captivated by his care for his colleagues, young and old, deep love and knowledge for the Iranian culture and literature, and his energy. His good name and fond memories will live on”.

This is clearly a tremendous loss for the Iranian radiology community and

we will all miss him dearly.

I am deeply touched by this sad news. Dr. Rooholamini,s life was dedicated to his career and peers. He was truly a gentleman with compassion and kindness to his colleagues. He was the best teacher that I have ever had. His legend would be remembered by present Iranian intellectuals.
My condolences to his wife, his daughter (Sahar khanum) and members of Iranian Radiological Society.

I had a distinct honor to work with Dr. Rooholamini for the past 17 years.  Being a true gentleman. He related to everybody with utmost respect and kindness.  He was a soft spoken, loving and caring individual who was most admired and appreciated by his peers, colleagues, staff, residents and medical students.  With his impeccable knowledge and expertise he took the science of radiology to another level.  His heart was filled with love of Iran and he always compassionately talked about it.  I miss his smile, his kindness, expertise and friendship.  My sincere condolences to his daughter, family members, colleagues and friends.

Dear friends,

We were greatly saddened by the news of Dr. Rooholamini's passing.  He was a good friend and good company during the RSNA and ARRS meetings.  I looked forward to meeting him at Case of the Day, doing the cases, then sharing lunch at Subway sandwich shop.  He was a true gentleman and I enjoyed his kindness.  He loved Iran and Iranians, and was proud of our great culture and civilization.  I will never forget the last time I said goodbye to him, dropping him off at his hotel following the 2006 NAIRS dinner.  Condolences to all.

The sudden departure of Majid from this world was truly a tragic event for those of us who knew him and were honored to call him a true friend. I was stunned and shocked by the sad news when I found out earlier this month. Myself and many friends feel that we have not only lost a great friend but that Iranian Radiology community has lost a dedicated individual and a true supporter.
My sincere condolences to his family.

May God bless his soul and bring the family peace and prosperity.

Ali Shirkhoda

The following piece of poetry may bring some happiness to his family and friends.

His Journey has just begun...
Don't think of him as gone away,
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing,
that we could know, today,
how nothing but our sadness,
