MINUTES of North American Iranian Radiological Society (NAIRS) Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Dr. Farzin Eftekhari, President of NAIRS, at 7:15 p.m.  There was a minute of silence in memory of the late Dr. S.A. Majid Rooholamini.  Dr. Eftekhari welcomed Dr. Sahar Rooholamini and her husband Dr. Rohani.  

Dr. Sahar Rooholamini gave a presentation regarding her father’s life and work.  Dr.  Rohani read Iranian poetry in his memory.   Dr. Mansoor Fatehi brought on CD from Iran Professor Vassal’s eulogy at the Iranian Radiological Society meeting.

Dr. Eftekhari announced the meeting of the Iranian Congress of Radiology April 22-25, 2008 at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.  Dr. Mohammad Hadi Bagheri, Chairman of Radiology at Shiraz University, extends an invitation for our participation.  His email address is bagherimh@gmail.com.

The attendees introduced themselves.  The minutes of last year’s meeting were approved.  Dr. Jamshidi gave the financial report.

Dr. Eftekhari spoke about the future of NAIRS.  Dr. Javad Jamshidi, NAIRS Secretary-Treasurer, thanked Dr.Karim Rezai for his work on the website.  There was general discussion of the future of NAIRS.  The conclusion was that NAIRS should continue.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
